Man Involved in Route 36 Chain-Reaction Crash Sentenced to Probation

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – A man involved in a Cook Forest area traffic accident more than two years ago that left five people injured was sentenced to two years probation on Wednesday in Clarion County Court of Common Pleas.

According to court records, 34-year-old Jonathan Charles Laur, of Pittsburgh, received two years probation from President Judge James Arner after pleading guilty to one misdemeanor count of accidents involving death or personal injury.

The following charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement:

– Driving While Operator Privilege Suspended Or Revoked, Summary
– Vehicle Turning Left, Summary
– Driving at Safe Speed, Summary
– Careless Driving, Summary

According to a previously published article on exploreClarion.com, on August 14, 2015, Laur was driving a 2002 Chrysler van on Route 36 and attempted to turn left onto River Road in front of a 2015 Jeep driven by Robert Marks, of Yardley, Pa.

The Jeep hit the van, causing the van to roll before it came to rest on its side.
