CLARION, Pa. — Approximately 50 Clarion County adults have put on a set of flags to start off the new YMCA Adult Flag Football League.

The season consists of six total regular season games plus playoffs. Each team will receive two byes.

Week 1 Recap

The first week of action was all about shaking off the rust and having fun. The action began with games starting on Thursday, October 12, at Clarion High School, pairing up The Favre Dollar Footlongs against the Longshots. The game was over fast due to the mercy rule, with The Longshots taking the first game of the season 35-0. The second game on the schedule was a more competitive game with The Practice Squad going against Vertically Challenged. Vertically Challenged went home with the win 12-0.

Week 2 Recap

The second week of action took the teams’ talents to the YMCA fields, and the games were intense and competitive. The first matchup was The Villains versus Vertically Challenged. It was a back and very forth game with the Villians down by eight points past mid field. Vertically Challenged squeaked by The Villains 42-34.

The second game placed The Practice Squad against the Longshots. The game featured many turnovers which were mostly interceptions. The game was close in the second half being 21-18 but then the Longshots broke the game open and came out with the victory with a score of 57-18.
