CLARION TWP, Pa. (EYT) — State police say a one-vehicle accident occurred early Monday morning on Route 322 in Clarion Township.
According to Clarion-based State Police, around 6:55 a.m. on October 30, 25-year-old Steven Smilie, of Chunchula, Alabama, was traveling west on Route 322 when he lost control of his 2006 Toyota Tundra while rounding a curve at a high rate of speed.
The truck skidded in a counterclockwise direction before leaving the road, hitting an embankment, and rolling over. The truck came to a final rest on its wheels, police say.
Smilie was not injured.
A passenger in Smilie’s vehicle — 27-year-old Kristopher J. Stewart, of Gulf Shores, Alabama — was injured in the crash. Clarion Hospital Ambulance transported him to Clarion Hospital
Both Smilie and Stewart were using seat belts.
Smilie was charged with a traffic violation.
Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1 also assisted at the scene.
Mark’s Auto towed the truck from the scene.
