One Person Injured As Car Strikes Vehicle with Individuals Repairing Flat Tire

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — One person was injured following a collision on Friday night on State Route 257, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 10:12 p.m. on Friday, November 3, a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier became disabled from a flat tire on Seneca Hill (Route 257).

Police say 22-year-old Michael J. O’Polka, of Oil City, was traveling south on Route 257 in the right lane, and the disabled vehicle was along the roadside. O’Polka became distracted from a phone call, and his 2012 Chevrolet Cruze struck the Cavalier.

According to police, 20-year-old Sawyar T. White, of Lickingville, and 21-year-old Dakota R. Sutton, of Oil City, were underneath the Cavalier, attempting to jack up the vehicle.

After impact, the Cruze began to spin clockwise and overturned.

O’Polka was using a seat belt and was not injured.

White was not injured.

Community Ambulance Service transported Sutton to UPMC Northwest for evaluation of suspected moderate injuries.

O’Polka was charged with a traffic violation.

Seneca Volunteer Fire Department and Venango Towing and Recovery assisted at the scene.
