Clarion’s Lerch, Karns City’s Pennington Named KSAC Cross Country MVPs

KNOX, Pa. — Clarion’s Nathaniel Lerch and Karns City’s Rebecca Pennington were named the KSAC boys’ and girls’ cross country MVPs in a voting by the league’s coaches.

Lerch helped Clarion finish second at the District 9 Class 1A meet and qualify for the PIAA Championships as a team by taking 11th at the D9 meet (17:45). He then followed that up by placing 69th at the PIAA meet (17:54) helping the Bobcats to a 12th-place finish in the state.

Pennington medaled at the PIAA Class 2A meet finishing 19th in a time of 19:44. This after she finished second in District 9 in a time of 19:53.
