Two Knox Men Charged in Undercover Heroin Buy in Venango County

VENANGO COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Two Knox men are facing felony charges in connection with an undercover drug sting in Venango County.

The Punxsutawney-based State Police Vice Unit filed charges against the two men on Wednesday at Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office in Seneca.

Robert J. Elder, 31, of Knox, is facing the following charges:

  • Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
  • Criminal Conspiracy Engaging — Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
  • Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3

Anthony James Knight, 29, of Knox, is facing the following charges:

  • Criminal Conspiracy Engaging — Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
  • Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony

According to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday in Venango County District Court, the charges stem from a controlled drug buy on July 28, 2017, at an undisclosed location near the Emlenton Truck Plaza.

Court documents indicate that Anthony Knight allegedly sold six stamp bags of heroin for $100 to a confidential informant.

The drug buy was observed by multiple officers.

Police say the drugs were logged into evidence and later tested positive for heroin.

According to the criminal complaint, police spoke with Knight on November 7 at the Clarion County Jail, and he admitted that he delivered the heroin for Robert Elder.

Knight is also facing drug charges in Clarion County. He is one of sixteen people charged in a street-level drug sweep announced by the Clarion County District Attorney’s office on Wednesday.

Elder is scheduled to be arraigned on November 13 at 2:00 p.m. before Judge Lowrey. A preliminary hearing is slated for November 22 at 8:30 a.m. with Judge Lowrey presiding.

Knight was arraigned on Thursday before Judge Lowrey. A preliminary hearing is slated for November 15 at 8:30 a.m. with Judge Lowrey presiding.
