Man Injured in Beaver Township Rollover Crash
According to Clarion-based State Police, the accident happened when Ernest Switzer, 24, was driving a 2000 Chevy S-10 at a high rate of speed east on East End Road at 6:49 a.m.
When Switzer rounded a left-hand curve, he left the road and struck a ditch with the truck’s front bumper. He then lost control of the vehicle and counter-steered before traveling across the other side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck an embankment causing it to roll on to its roof where it partially blocked the west-bound lane.
Switzer, who was wearing his seat belt, reported minor head injuries. Shippenville EMS transported him to Clarion Hospital.
Shippenville-Elk Township Volunteer Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
Mark’s Auto towed the truck from the scene.
Police cited Switzer for speeding.
