FOREST CO., Pa. – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the regional winner of the “Paint the Plow” safety outreach contest in Warren and Forest counties.

Sheffield High School won the “Fan Favorite” award, which was determined by online voting. Students from the school painted a wing plow blade with the school’s mascot leaping out from behind the words Wolverine Pride.

During the winter weather season, the blade, as well as those painted by Warren, Eisenhower, Youngsville, and East Forest high school students, will be used to maintain state-owned roadways in Warren and Forest counties.

Members of the public can view photos the painted plow blades online at the PennDOT Facebook page (@PennsylvaniaDepartmentofTransportation). Pictures of each plow are posted in the Warren-Forest photo album.

“Paint the Plow” is a joint effort of PennDOT and area high school art programs. Students are invited to paint a plow blade with an original design based on a regional theme. The theme for the Warren-Forest program was school mascots.
