Hearst, who was recently named an Honorable Mention Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) wide receiver, had eight catches for 101 yards and a touchdown with the score coming in the third quarter breaking a 14-all tie at the time.

After Hearst’s touchdown gave W&J the lead, Johnson Hopkins scored twice to go ahead 28-21, but the Presidents responded to tie the game on an Alex Rowse to Ryan Zubik 9-yard touchdown pass with 9:14 to play. W&J then won the game when Mauricio Garibay hit a 46-yard field goal with 57 seconds left.

W&J is back in action at Noon Saturday when it hosts Frostburg State (Md.) in the second round.

On the season, Hearst, the son of Bill and Chris Hearst, has 40 catches for 568 yards and five touchdowns.
