Water Service Restored in Hawthorn Area; Residents Advised to Boil Water

HAWTHORN BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Water service has been restored in Hawthorn Borough.

Residents are advised to boil water until further notice.

Drinking water is available at Hawthorn Area Volunteer Fire Department, located at 3891 Main Street. Residents can fill their own containers and bottled water is available.

Redbank Valley School District was closed on Monday, November 20, due to the outage. School officials say classes will be back in session on Tuesday. Drinking water will be available for all students.

Hawthorn Borough VFD Assistant Fire Chief Curt Kiehl said the outage was a result of a major water main break in the borough on Sunday.
