New Bethlehem Man Jailed for Allegedly Beating Woman

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (EYT) — A New Bethlehem man is facing assault charges after he allegedly beat up a woman on Sunday morning at a residence on Wood Street in New Bethlehem.

According to court documents, 34-year-old Noah M. Wonderling, of New Bethlehem, was arraigned at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, in front of Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment, Summary

He was lodged in the Clarion County Jail on November 19; however, he was released on November 21 after posting $1,000.00 cash bail.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, with Judge Miller presiding.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Pa. State Trooper Zachary Huffman, around 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 19, Noah Wonderling got into a fight with a woman at 500 Wood Street in New Bethlehem.

The woman had entered the residence to get her son, the complaint states.

Wondering allegedly told her he wasn’t going to allow her to take him, and he pushed her down the steps. Then, he allegedly tackled her to the ground and punched, kicked, bit, and “fish0hooked” her while he was on top of her, the complaint states.

The victim was able to get away; she ran from the house and called her father, the complaint indicates.
