CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion University students are helping to fill empty bellies this Thanksgiving.

Through the Eagle Ambassadors’ annual Donate-a-Meal campaign, 77 turkeys were donated to Clarion County Community Action, an increase of 16 more than last year.

Students were invited to donate their November 17 board meal to the campaign. This year, 592 students donated those meals, the cash value of which was $1,272.00. Additional cash donations of $20.00 from students and $200.00 from Clarion University Alumni Association Board of Directors and an anonymous donor were collected.

The donations were used to purchase 77 turkeys, which were donated on Wednesday and will be given to families in need.

Chartwells, the university’s dining service, co-sponsors the drive.
