Connie Jean Hart Sporer

Connie SporerConnie Jean Hart Sporer, 74, formerly of Oil City and Rocky Grove, a resident of Sugar Creek Station, died Thursday, November 23, 2017, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Our wonderful Father in Heaven called her home. Jesus and her dear husband Jim were waiting for her.

Born April 11, 1943, in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late Paul Robert Hart and Ruth Mercille Bell Hart Amore Fischer. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Dorena J (Shotgun) Amore.

Connie graduated from Oil City High School in 1961.

On June 6, 1964, she married James Samuel Sporer at St. Michael Church in Fryburg by Monsignor Theobold. He preceded her in death, June 10, 1992

Connie lived in Rocky Grove for many years as her daughters were growing up. While living in Rocky Grove, she operated a Day Care for children for 22 years.

After the death of her husband, she moved to Oil City and eventually lived with her daughter and family.

Connie was a member of St. Stephen Church and the St. Stephen Altar Rosary Society. She also was a life member of the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, a life member of the Franklin VFW Auxiliary, and a past president and member of the American Legion Post 32 Auxiliary.

She enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo.

Connie is survived by 2 daughters, Christina Barletta and husband William, and Catherine Tarr and husband Timothy; and four grandchildren, Nicholas Barletta, Haley Barletta, Ashley Barletta and Benjamin Tarr.

Also surviving are a sister, Maxine Barr and husband Robert; and brothers and sisters in-law, Joe Sporer, Kay Sporer, John and Mary Lou Sporer and Charles and Diann Sporer; and a step brother, Danny Fischer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 step fathers, Dorena Amore and Vernon Fischer; two sisters, Esther Porter and husband Donald, and Patricia Sporer; a brother-in-law, David Sporer; a sister-in-law, Patsy Sporer.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Monday in St. Patrick Church in Franklin.

Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Franklin.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sugar Creek Station and UPMC Northwest for the compassionate care their mother received
