Alfred Earnest “Ernie” Pellow

Thumbnail-49Alfred Earnest “Ernie” Pellow, 79, of Franklin passed away at his home on December 1st, 2017.

Born on September 19, 1938 in New Galilee, PA, he was the son of Rev. William John and Dorothy Virginia (Eaches) Pellow.

He was a U.S. Army Peacetime Veteran serving 37 months in Germany.

On September 3, 1960, he married Joyce Marie Wencil.

Ernie was a self employed building contractor. He received a Pennsylvania Builders of the Year award in 1996 and the Pennsylvania Builders Distinguished Achievement Award in 2014.

He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge and the York Rite and received his Masonic 50 year pin in 2015. Ernie was active in the Veteran’s Coalition and the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. He was instrumental in bringing the Veteran’s Administration Clinic to Franklin.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Joyce Marie Pellow, of Franklin; his son, Charles E. Pellow and wife, Tracey, of Franklin; his grandchildren, Jonathan Charles Pellow, Ernest Paul Pellow and Charlotte Elizabeth Pellow, all of Franklin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ernie was preceded in death by both parents, brothers Walter Charles Pellow and Arthur Richard Pellow, and a sister, Emmie Louise (Pellow) Hastings.

Friends are invited to visit the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm — 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at the Phipps Cemetery, Kossuth, PA where military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
