OI817469253_SalapekobitphotoJessica L. Baker Salapek, 34, of Warren, passed away on Tuesday November 28, 2017.

Jess was born May 9, 1983, in Clarion, a daughter to David Baker of Tionesta and Tonya Martin McCue of Coudersport.

She earned her Bachelor’s teaching degree from Edinboro University and her Master’s from Gannon University. She was currently employed with the Titusville School District as an art teacher for the past 2 years. Prior to that worked at the Sheffield K-12 School for 5 years.

Jess was very active and loved the outdoors. From camping to hiking to kayaking, she always found peace in the woods. She also enjoyed gardening, painting and making jewelry. Jess was an active runner and raced in many local K5’s, half marathons and participated in the Kinzua Tango the last several years with her “Sole Sisters.” She was a devoted mother and loved her job as a teacher and loved her students. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Salapek and their children Thomas and Averyanna, a brother, Joshua Baker of Tionesta and a sister, Keela Baker Bodien of Oil City, her father and mother in law, Robin and Thomas Salapek of Warren, her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Baker of Lucinda and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Those wishing to leave the family condolences, may do so at www.nelsonfuneralhome.net. The Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Youngsville have been entrusted with all arrangements.
