Clarion Area High School Presents ‘In-Laws and Outlaws’ Holiday Comedy This Weekend

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — A funny Christmas mystery is the next production of the Clarion Area High School Theatre Department set for this weekend.

“In-Laws and Outlaws, and Other People…” will be presented at the school auditorium on Saturday, December 9, at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, December 10, at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $5.00 for senior citizens and students.

“It’s a show where every character is relatable and you form a connection with because you have somebody in your life that the characters remind you of,” says Elizabeth Saver, who plays the role of Beth in the show.

Nick Cheri co, who plays Tony in the production, says, “This show is extremely funny and so relatable to your friends and family. You’ll be sitting in the audience and crack up laughing because you’ll see your crazy uncle or annoying neighbor on stage. It is a great way to bring in the holidays, so we hope to see you there in the audience with your friends and family. You don’t want to miss it.”

What it’s all about

The show is titled “In-Laws, Outlaws, and Other People-That Should be Shot.”

An official description and review of the show state: “It is 6:00 p.m. and the Douglas family is busily preparing to be invaded by their quirky relatives for their annual Christmas Eve dinner. After robbing a bank, high strung and irritable Tony and his dim-witted sidekick Vinnie find them in need of a place to briefly hide out. Using a ruse to gain entrance into the Douglas-home, they suddenly find themselves in charge of an ever-growing list of family members that they are forced to hold hostage.”

“From smart-aleck teenagers to nosy neighbors, and bickering adults – the laughs (like the flow of people) are non-stop and we soon wonder who is holding who hostage? With outrageous characters, laugh-a-minute-dialogue, and a surprise, heartfelt ending – Author Steve Franco has created a comic treasure that is sure to leave your audience in stitches while celebrating the true meaning of Christmas.”
