Millin New Director of Forest County Business Alliance

Brady MillinMARIENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Forest County native Brady Millin is the new Executive Director of the Forest County Business Alliance.

Millin was born and raised in Forest County, the son of Eric and Dawn Brady Millin, who operate Tionesta Beverage.

Millin is a 2012 Clarion University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in History. Millin has worked in the family business and was a substitute teacher before accepting the position with the Business Alliance.

“I am very honored to have been hired to this position by the FCBA board,” Millin said. “I have lived in Forest County all of my life and am proud to have the opportunity to serve my community and its business leaders. I’m happy to say that I know many of you personally and have known you for sometime.”

“I am also extremely excited to meet and work with those of you who are new to me, and I can only hope to learn from your wealth of knowledge when it comes to the business environment of Forest County.”

Millin also volunteered on local political campaigns in the county as well as a few state-level campaigns.

“Our first initiative is to offer seminars and training in things like social media, marketing and guest services for tourism season,” Millin said.

The Forest County Business Alliance is also working with the County Community & Economic Development office, Northwest Regional Planning Commission, and Clarion SBDC to assist existing and developing businesses, seeking to grow the number and health of businesses in Forest County.

“We are working with these entities and utilizing input from them, the local businesses, and results from the many studies conducted over the past 20-plus years. FCBA has created the “EMPOWERS” project which is a multi-year Rural Business Opportunity Activities project and is based on these common needs and recommendations and consists of:

– EDUCATION of the businesses and their employees

– MOTIVATION of the businesses and community in general

– PROMOTION of the county as a destination and a place to live work and play

– OUTREACH  to the residents & recruit businesses from outside the county

– WORKFORCE development including recruitment and training

– EXPANSION of our efforts and abilities to help our businesses expand

– RETENTION of existing businesses and jobs

– SUPPORT of businesses and entrepreneurs as they establish, operate and grow

Millin said he will hold office hours every Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Visitors Center in Tionesta. He will also be at the Marienville Transportation Building Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

“I will be reaching out to different businesses every week in the hopes of meeting with you to see your place of business and better understand your hopes and concerns as they relate to the FCBA and my position,” Millin said. “It’s important for me to stress that my position is meant to serve the needs of the business community, and I appreciate any wisdom or suggestions about the FCBA.

“ I am thrilled to begin working with all of you in any capacity and hope you are with me and the FCBA in our vision to make Forest County a more business-friendly environment,” Millin said.
