Hobart Wade Craig

image-29181_20171212.jpgxHobart Wade Craig, age 83, of Wesleyville, formerly of North East, died on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Sunrise of Presque Isle Bay. He was born on January 6, 1934, in Clarion County, Pa. to the late Thomas Hobart and Mary (Hartman) Craig.

Wade was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. He was formerly employed as a tank room attendant by Welch Foods for 40 years; he retired in 1998. He was attended St. James Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Gregory Catholic Church. Wade enjoyed spending time with his family and was a member of the Wesleyville American Legion Post 571.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nina Ann Snookie Pace; second wife, Joann Carlson Craig; brothers, Herbert, Ed, Thomas, and Connie Craig; and sisters, Mary E. Wright, Agnes Males, Anabelle Prichard, and Elsie Grazier.

Wade is survived by his children, Joseph T. Craig (Heidi) of Green Township and Teri L. Stanopiewicz (Ronald) of Harborcreek; a brother, Robert Craig (Caroline) of Harborcreek; sisters, Louella Mong (Robert) of North East and Barbara L. Hatt of Erie; grandchildren, Jacob, Hayley, Ryan, Alex, and Carson; a great-granddaughter, Zoe; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Rev Thomas Brooks. Interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lakeland Area Hospice, 2221 Peninsula Dr., Erie, PA 16506.
