Local Boy Donates Birthday Money to Charity

PORTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Clarion County boy recently decided to make his birthday more about giving than receiving.

Waylon Cornman, the son of Bob and Bridget Cornman, who live in Porter Township, celebrated his 10th birthday last month by accepting donations instead of asking for gifts.

Waylon was inspired to take the donations after seeing commercials of abused and neglected animals. He was also very moved by the St. Jude’s Children Hospital commercial.

With hopes to raise enough money to help St. Jude’s Hospital and a couple local animal rescues to provide food, any needs for the animals — and “especially love,” Waylon collected $300.00 in donations, giving $100.00 to each to Tri-County Animal Rescue, Orphans of the Storm Animal Rescue, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
