Sleigher Pic - web and paperBecky E. Sleigher, 78, of Rimersburg, PA, lost her battle with cancer and went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

She was born August 6, 1939 in Kissinger Mills, PA, the daughter of Bruce Edgar Simpson and Mary Ellen (Gorman) Simpson.

Becky was a lifelong resident of Kissinger Mills and attended St. Richard’s Roman Catholic Church. She worked as a waitress at the Knight Spot in Rimersburg and Rosie’s Restaurant in Sligo and loved interacting with her customers. Music was an important part of her life and she enjoyed playing the guitar and piano with her friends, a group called “Taste of Country.” Becky especially loved to sing. She was known for her voice and sounding just like Patsy Cline.

Christmas was her favorite time of year and she looked forward to decorating her home each year as a gift to her community. Her décor was so beautiful that people drove in from far away to see it. Becky enjoyed flowers and landscaping her yard, camping and playing bingo, and was known for being an excellent cook. She loved being with family and friends, and especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Those who knew her will remember her as being the best prayer warrior around, and her selfless spirit will be greatly missed.

Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband, James H. “Jim” Sleigher, whom she married January 21, 1961; daughter, Mary “Beth” Rankin and husband, Ronald “Bub,” of New Bethlehem; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Kemmer and husband, Brian, Whitney Renee DeMiere and husband, Mark Jr., and Katie Jo Rankin; great-grandchildren, Madison and Clayton Kemmer, Teaghan, Milena and Mark III DeMiere, and Raegan and Rhilyn Zuranik; brothers, Eugene and John Simpson; and sister, Linda Ganoe and husband, Bernie.
