5a340c2b33d13Jean (McCord) Giesmann, 98, of Kennerdell passed away peacefully December 13, 2017 at Orchard Manor.

Jean was born November 3, 1919 in Casper Wyoming, she was the daughter of John M. and Ethel M. McCord, Jean was raised by her grandparents Findley and Martha Griffin.

Jean graduated from Emlenton High School. She also graduated from Slippery Rock University with a teaching degree. Jean married Elbert Giesmann on October 24, 1944, the couple celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary prior to his passing on November 7, 2005.

Jean was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Clintonville. She enjoyed her home and spending time with her family.

Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her daughters Linda Cheresnowski and her husband Dave of Kennerdell, Faye McDonnell and her husband John of North Carolina, Myrna Dugan and her husband David of Virginia. Her grandchildren Amy Cheresnowski and her husband Mike Lee, Andy Cheresnowski and his wife Amanda, Kathryn Lynn and her husband Chris. Jean’s first great grandchild was born last month, Nathaniel Michael Lee.

Preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband and 2 sisters Martha Klindt and Mary Lee Brooks.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Funeral services will take place at the Union Presbyterian Church, 409 Emlenton Street, Clintonville on Monday December 18, 2017 at 11:00 with Rev. Joe Tagliaferre. There will also be a hour of viewing prior to the funeral service at the church.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to a charities of one’s choice or to the Union Presbyterian Church, 409 Emlenton Street, Clintonville PA 16372
