On December 2 around 8:00 a.m., Tpr. Tate Allison responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash near the intersection of U.S. Route 322 and Kline Road in Ashland Township, Clarion County.

Evidence at the scene revealed the vehicle was traveling west on U.S. Route 322 when it exited the roadway and struck a mailbox just east of Kline Road.

After striking the mailbox, the vehicle continued traveling west on U.S. Route 322 before it crossed both lanes of travel and exited the roadway. The vehicle then traveled through a yard and struck an embankment before rolling onto its roof.

The driver of the vehicle — later identified as Fox — fled the crash scene prior to police arrival.

Around 8:25 a.m., Fox was located in a field along Whitehill Road, approximately one mile away from the crash scene.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Tpr. Allison, Fox was found with recent cuts and fresh blood on his right hand.

Fox declined medical attention, according to Tpr. Allison.

Fox said he was in the Knox area with a friend when he decided to move the vehicle “so that it wouldn’t get towed,” according to the criminal complaint.

The criminal complaint states that Fox told Tpr. Allison that he “had an argument with his mother after returning to her house.”

“Fox related that he just wanted to get away to clear his mind after the argument,” said Tpr. Allison in the criminal complaint.

According to the criminal complaint, Fox said he crashed because “he thought that someone was standing on the road and shot near him.”

“Fox then related that he wanted me to shoot him,” said Tpr. Allison in the criminal complaint.

Additionally, it was determined that Fox’s driver’s license is suspended.

Fox was taken into custody and placed in the Clarion County Jail on an outstanding bench warrant out of Mckean County.

Later that morning, Tpr. Allison spoke with the owner of the crashed vehicle who stated that he parked the car in a lot at the intersection of East State Street and Dennison Street in Knox on December 1.

He also told police that Fox did not have permission to drive the vehicle.

Fox remains lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday at 9:00 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk.
