Oil City Student Accused of Threatening to ‘Shoot Up’ High School, Asks Fellow Student to Help

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City High School student is behind bars after he allegedly threatened to “shoot up” the school.

Oil City Police Chief Bob Wenner said K’hane Mabin, 18, of Oil City, was arrested following an investigation into a threat at Oil City High School on Tuesday.

The investigation was initiated after a known male student told faculty that Mabin threatened to “shoot up” the school.

Mabin allegedly asked the known male to join him in the act.

Police said Mabin admitted to officers that he made the statements.

Mabin was taken into custody and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 11:30 a.m. on charges of first-degree misdemeanor terroristic threats and third-degree disorderly conduct.

He was placed in the Venango County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for January 03, 2018, at 8:30 a.m.

Mabin is also facing charges in connection an alleged sexual assault at an Oil City residence.
