Police Release Details on Sligo Crash; Young Boy Hospitalized

SLIGO, Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police released information on a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Friday in Sligo.

According to police, around 11:58 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 36-year-old Joseph Iwanczuk, of Corsica, was driving a 2003 Dodge Dakota north on Colerain Street when it failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Bald Eagle Street. The pickup crashed into a 2006 Chevy Equinox driven by 25-year-old Kelsi J. Gagliano, of Rimersburg, as she attempted to make a left turn from Bald Eagle Street onto Colerain Street.

A five-year-old male passenger in Gagliano’s vehicle suffered possible injuries. Sligo EMS transported him to Clarion Hospital.

Another infant male passenger in Gagliano’s vehicle was not injured.

Neither driver was injured.

All occupants were using seat belts or child safety seats.

Both vehicles had disabling damage.

Iwanczuk was charged with a traffic violation.

The Sligo Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
