Thomas Harold “Odie” Aldous

Aldous PhotoThomas Harold “Odie” Aldous, age 76, of Monroe Township, Clarion County, passed away on December 28, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on February 19, 1941 in Clarion Township, Clarion County, the son of the late Harold and Gladys (Aldous) Martin. After his parents divorced, he was adopted and raised by his uncle, John Aldous.

On March 11, 1995, he married LuEtta Montgomery, and she survives.

He worked to support his family as a welder for Pullman Standard, C&K Coal, and Trinity Industries before he retired. He also worked part-time in maintenance at J.C. Penney at the Clarion Mall.

He kept himself busy by mowing his yard on his John Deere and helping others whenever he could. He loved going to car shows with his wife in their 1948 DeSoto when they could. He and his wife were regular attendees at the Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Jeff Sharpe (Debra), of Utah, and Dean Sharpe (Leslie), of Arizona; his daughters, Cindy Gardner (Dave), of Utah, and Carla Eltzroth of Maine; his step-children, Colleen Campbell (Scott), of Rimersburg, Steven Hawk (Rhoda), of Rimersburg, and Donald Hawk (Christie), of Rimersburg; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Nancy Stockdill, of Ford City; and a half-brother, Roger Martin (Marianne), of Ohio.

In addition to this parents, he was preceded in death by a half-sister, Laura Martin.

Arrangements are under the care of Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion, where visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Carol Brown of Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Cedarview Memorial Park.
