Sheila Belinda (Brady) Nair

Image-193930-500x667Sheila Nair passed away January 2, 2018, in an auto accident near her home of nearly half a century, Jack Run Farm, in New Bethlehem.

She was 74, a registered nurse, and the proprietor of a monogramming and embroidery business she had operated for the past 36 years.

The former Sheila Belinda Brady graduated from Sisters Hospital School of Nursing in Buffalo, New York in 1964, and worked as a registered nurse at Sisters Hospital before moving to Clarion two years after her 1966 marriage to Donald A. Nair, then the dean of students at Canisius College and later vice president for student affairs and professor at Clarion University.

Sheila and Don soon moved to New Bethlehem’s Jack Run Farm and renovated the old farmhouse.

Sheila served as a visiting and volunteer nurse in the New Bethlehem area and she founded The Thread Homestead in the early 1980s.

Her greatest focus was always on her four children – Brendan D. (Jessica) Nair, of Winter Garden, Florida; Bridget B. Nair (Steve) Gunter of Ligonier, Pennsylvania; Belinda E. Nair (Daniel) Monek of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Bronwyn Nair (Daniel) Cain of Sewickley, Pennsylvania.

Sheila is survived by her husband, children, and seven adored grandchildren, Noah B. and Nicole G. Nair; Katia E. and Corinne B. Gunter; Liam D. Monek; Eleana “Ellie” and Kieran D. Cain.

Sheila was, to all, a woman of beauty and compassion who found humor in almost everything – and was never above a bit of mischief. She will be missed beyond belief.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 6, 2018, at St. Charles Catholic Church in New Bethlehem. Family will receive friends at the church 45 minutes prior to Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Lupus Foundation of America in her name at lupus.org and asks that Sheila’s many friends perform meaningful acts of kindness to their friends, neighbors, and community for which she will always be known.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.goblefh.net.
