Warming Shelters Available at Local Fire Departments

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Warming shelters are available at the Knox Volunteer Fire Company, Sigel Volunteer Fire Department, and Hawthorn Area Volunteer Fire Department.

Due to the impending cold weather that is predicted for the next few days, the Knox Volunteer Fire Company, Sigel Volunteer Fire Department, and Hawthorn Area Volunteer Fire Department will be opening their doors to the public to provide a warming shelter for anyone who needs it.

If you need emergency assistance, please dial 9-1-1.

If you need to use the warming shelter in Knox, please contact Clarion County OES at their non-emergency number 814-226-7020.

The shelter is available immediately through Monday, January 8, 2018, at 8:00 a.m.

The Knox Volunteer Fire Company is located at 514 East Railroad St, Knox, Pa.

If you need to use the warming shelter in Sigel, please call Dave Smith at 814-715-4861; or Teresa Gilbert at 814-715-0130; or Jefferson County 911’s non-emergency number at 814-849-1617.

Sigel Volunteer Fire Department is located at 9234 Route 949, Sigel, Pa.

If you need access to the shelter at Hawthorn Area Volunteer Fire Department, call Chief Curt Kiehl Jr. at 814-227-7016 or 4th Assistant Kevin Eberle Jr. at 724-859-8035. If these individuals are unreachable, call Clarion County Office of Emergency Services non-emergency line at 814-226-7020.
