GREENSBURG, Pa. – In a tale of two halves, the Clarion Golden Eagles fell on the road to Seton Hill Saturday afternoon 93-74 in a PSAC men’s basketball matchup.

Clarion was lights out in the first half, shooting 63% including 6 of 10 from three-point range. The Golden Eagles led by as many as 11 in the first half, but found themselves tied 45-45 at the break.
It was all Seton Hill in the second half, as the Griffins outscored Clarion 48-29 and cruised to a home conference win.
Seton Hill took advantage of a short Clarion bench, playing with only one substitute, and was able to outrebound the Golden Eagles 42-27 on the day.
Clarion was led by redshirt junior Brandon Williams, who finished the game with 22 points on 9 of 18 shooting. Freshman Khari Williams played 35 minutes and netted 14 points while classmate Mason Mraz chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds.
After a stellar first half, Clarion went cold in the second half, shooting 39% from the floor and just 1 of 9 from behind the arc.
Seton Hill improves its record to 5-8 overall and 2-6 in the PSAC while the Golden Eagles drop to 3-11 and 0-8 in the league.
Clarion will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Mercyhurst for a PSAC matchup. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
WOMEN CAN’T COMEBACK ON SETON HILL
GREENSBURG, Pa. – Despite getting more than 20 points apiece from Amesha Harden-Pullium and Yndiah Bobo, the Golden Eagles fell by an 83-73 score at Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles (7-7, 2-6 PSAC) jumped out to an early lead but were unable to hold on against the Griffins on the road.
Bobo played all 40 minutes and recorded her first career double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, with both marks representing her first time scoring better than 20 points and pulling in more than 10 rebounds, respectively. Harden-Pullium came up just one point shy of the game-high, notching 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting while also adding two assists and two steals. Tynita White came off the bench to chip in 11 points, best among all non-starters on the day.
Seton Hill opened the game on a 5-0 run but Clarion countered with a rally of their own, taking an 8-7 lead on a three-pointer by Harden-Pullium and a 19-16 advantage after two free throws by Yasmin Lewis. Bobo closed out a 9-2 run in the first quarter with free throw makes of her own, giving Clarion their largest lead of the day at 21-16.
The two teams battled back and forth through the second quarter with Bobo scoring off a pass from Tracy Wiehe to make it 36-33 at the halfway part of the period. Bobo tallied another layup with 1:50 left to put her team ahead 40-36, but Jenna Kaufman tied the game at 40 with just over a minute remaining in the half, and Lindsey Mifsud knocked down a three-pointer in transition to put the Griffins up by three heading into halftime.
Harden-Pullium cut the lead to one point early in the third quarter, but the Griffins responded with a 14-5 run to take a double-digit lead late in the period. The advantage reached 11 points after a three-pointer by Halie Torris, and it remained at or near double-digits for much of the remainder of the contest. Clarion whittled the lead down to two possessions late, with Harden-Pullium draining a trey at the 2:46 mark to make it 77-71 and Bobo laying one in at the 1:16 mark to make it a four-point contest, but the Griffins scored six straight points down the stretch to take the win.
