Burglary Charges Continue to Pile Up Against Knox Man Accused of Stealing Beer and Guns

brandt-youngKNOX, Pa. (EYT) – A Knox man is facing new felony charges after police say he was involved in additional burglaries in the borough.

According to court documents, multiple criminal charges were filed against 20-year-old Brandt Michael Young, of Knox, in three Knox burglary cases.

State Street Knox Burglary

According to a criminal complaint filed by Knox Borough Police Officer Orr, Brandt Young and a known juvenile accomplice entered a garage located on State Street in Knox without permission and removed two 30-pack cases of Busch Light Beer between the dates of September 24 and October 16.

The complaint states that during an interview with the known juvenile accomplice on December 20, the juvenile admitted to entering the garage with Young and taking the beer.

Young faces the following charges for this incident:

- Criminal Conspiracy Engaging – Burglary – Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
- Burglary – Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
- Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3
- Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
- Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1
- Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 1

Bail was set at $5,000.00 monetary.

Center Street Burglary

According to a criminal complaint filed by Officer Orr, sometime between the dates of October 29 and November 20, Brandt Young and a known juvenile accomplice entered a garage located on Center Street in Knox without permission and removed two shotguns, a Mossberg 835 3.5 inch waterfowl with a camo stock including a waterfowl edition medallion in the stock, and a double barrel 16 gauge shotgun with a walnut stock.

On January 2, Young allegedly told officers that he was at the Center Street garage location when the shotgun was taken, the complaint states.

The following charges were filed against Young for this incident:

- Criminal Conspiracy Engaging – Burglary – Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
- Burglary – Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
- Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3
- Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
- Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Felony 2
- Receiving Stolen Property, Felony 2

Bail was set at $5,000.00 monetary.

East State Street Burglary

Sometime between the dates of December 15 and January 2, Young and a known juvenile accomplice entered a garage located on East State Street in Knox without permission and removed a Marlin .30-.30 lever action hunting rifle with scope, according to the complaint.

The known juvenile told Officer Orr that Young entered the garage and took the rifle, and then he placed it in a yard near the garage from where he had taken it for another known juvenile accomplice to retrieve it, the complaint continues.

The following offenses were filed against Young in this case:

- Criminal Conspiracy Engaging – Burglary – Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
- Burglary – Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present F3 Crim Tres-Enter Structure, Felony 2
- Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
- Theft By Unlaw Taking-Movable Property, Felony 2
- Receiving Stolen Property, Felony 2

Bail was set at $5,000.00 monetary.

His preliminary hearing for all charges is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.

A pending case for Theft by Unlawful Taking has also been filed against Young following an October 31 incident that occurred in the borough of Knox.

Young also faces charges stemming from a burglary on Center Street that occurred sometime between the dates of October 29 and November 20. Bail was set at $50,000.00 monetary for this case.

Unable to post bail, Young remains lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

His preliminary hearings for all the above-mentioned cases have been scheduled for January 16.
