UPDATE: I-80 Reopens After Being Shut Down for Almost 7 Hours

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Interstate 80 in Clarion County has reopened following a multi-vehicle accident that occurred early Tuesday morning in Clarion County.

A representative with Clarion-based State Police told exploreClarion.com that the accident happened on Interstate 80 westbound near mile marker 58.4.

The representative said multiple tractor-trailers were involved in the crash.

Multiple injuries have been reported.

Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1 and Clarion Hospital EMS were dispatched to the scene.

Around 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday, emergency officials shut down Interstate 80 westbound between Exit 53 (Knox) and Exit 60 (Shippenville).

The roadway remained closed until after 8:00 a.m.

Shippenville-Elk VFD and Knox VFD were called to the scene for traffic control.

Specific details on the accident have not yet been released.
