Raymond S. “Sam” Conway

Conway_Photo_1_jpgMr. Raymond S. “Sam” Conway, 84, of Pithole Rd. Pleasantville, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018, at 8:25 AM at his residence.

Sam was born on April 24, 1933 in Pithole to the late Raymond S. and Mary E. Wood Conway. He married Lynnette B. Beeman on June 27, 1964 in Titusville. She preceded him in death on November 7, 2006.

He was a graduate of Oil City High School.

Sam was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He entered the service on April 30, 1953 in Pittsburgh and was honorably discharged on April 29, 1955 at Fort George G. Meade.

Sam worked as a welder at the former Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. until his retirement.

He enjoyed watching, western movies, football, baseball, and hunting and fishing. He loved being with his family, especially his grandson.

Sam is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey W. Conway and wife Tori of Marble Falls, TX, and Stephen L. Conway and wife Julie of Pleasantville; a grandson Kyle Conway; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents Sam was preceded in death by his siblings, Frances Scherer, David Conway, Martha Conway, James Conway, Florence Conway, Phyllis Conway, Shirley Hirst, Margaret Benedict, Kathryn Conway, Susan Conway, Mary Williams, and William Conway.

No public calling hours will be observed. Services will be private to the family.
