Woman Charged with Assault  Following Domestic Dispute in Elk Township

ELK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A 37-year-old woman is being charged with assault following a domestic incident at a residence on Friday night in Elk Township, Clarion County.

According to court documents, Clarion-based State Police filed charges against 37-year-old Jamie Sherrel Green, of Philadelphia.

According to a criminal complaint, Trooper Sommers was dispatched at 6:07 p.m. on January 19 to a possible domestic dispute at a private residence on Knight Town Road, in Elk Township, Clarion County.

Upon arrival, Trooper Sommers spoke to a known man who stated that he engaged in a dispute with Jamie Green who had been staying at the residence. He said Green struck him in the face with a closed fist.

Trooper Sommers observed a red mark on the side of the man’s head, with swelling and a slight cut above his eye.

When Officer Sommers spoke to Green, she told him that the man attacked her, but her allegations didn’t coincide with physical evidence, according to the complaint.

Following an investigation, Green was arraigned at 8:20 p.m. on January 19 on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Unable to post $2,500.00 cash bail, she was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 30 at 1:45 p.m. in front of District Judge Amy Long Turk.
