Man Injured After Crashing Car into Semi in Shippenville Borough

SHIPPENVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say a two-vehicle collision occurred on Monday night on Route 322 at its intersection with Route 208 in Shippenville Borough, Clarion County.

According to police, this accident happened around 7:48 p.m. on Monday, January 29, on Main Street in Shippenville, at its intersection with North School Street, involving 48-year-old Steven G. Shirey, of Corsica, and 49-year-old James W. Blake, of Reynoldsville.

Police say Shirey failed to stop his 2008 Nissan Versa at a steady red sign and struck Blake’s 2011 Freightliner as it entered the intersection.

Shippenville-Elk EMS transported Shirey to Clarion Hospital for injuries of unknown severity.

He was not using a seat belt.

Blake was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Shirey was charged with a traffic violation.
