Police: Inclement Weather, Speed Factors in Clarion Twp. Crash

CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State Police in Clarion said inclement weather and speed were both factors in a one-vehicle crash Monday on Interstate 80.

Dillon W. Yard, 21, of Brookville, was traveling near mile marker 63 eastbound around 11:16 p.m. when he lost control of his 2015 Chrysler 300.

According to police, Yard had just passed another vehicle when his car began to fish-tail due to inclement weather.

Yard attempted to regain control and counter-steered, causing the vehicle to travel off the north side of the roadway.

It traveled approximately 275 feet in the median and crashed into a ditch, causing disabling damage.

After impact, the car traveled an additional 10 feet before coming to a rest facing east.

Yard was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

He was cited for failing to drive at a safe speed.

Mark’s Auto assisted at the scene.
