CLINTONVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say a tractor-trailer caught on fire on Saturday morning on Interstate 80, in Clintonville Borough, Venango County.

According to police, around 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 47-year-old Semsudin Bilalic, of Hamtramck, MI, was traveling westbound on I-80 in Clintonville Borough in a 2014 Freightliner tractor-trailer.

A fire erupted in or around the brakes for the rear tires of the trailer.

A PennDOT truck was following the tractor-trailer, and the employee observed the flames. The PennDOT employee was able to alert Bilalic who then came to a controlled stop on the right shoulder of I-80.

PennDOT, Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department, and Hovis Trucking assisted at the scene.
