JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Rimersburg man was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 1:51 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 21-year-old Brett A. Trithart, of Rimersburg, was traveling north on Harmony Road in Young Township and failed to negotiate a left-hand curve in the roadway.

His 2004 Nissan Titan slid towards the guide rail, and Trithart attempted to avoid the impact and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle spun, crossed both lanes, and then traveled across the berm and into a ditch where the truck impacted the embankment with its right side. The vehicle then overturned onto its passenger side.

Jefferson County EMS transported Trithart to Punxsutawney Area Hospital for injuries of unknown severity.

He was using a seat belt.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

Punxsutawney Fire Department and McCalmont Township Volunteer Fire Company assisted at the scene.

The truck was removed from the scene by Rebuck’s Southside Towing.
