State Police Release Details on Two Crashes in Clarion Township

CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police released details on the following crashes that occurred in Clarion Township:

Rollover Crash on I-80 Exit Ramp

Around 6:00 a.m. on February 4, Kyle D. Haines, 26, of Corsica, was operating a 2008 Dodge Avenger, on Interstate 80 eastbound at Exit 64 in Clarion Township.

While exiting, Haines lost control of the vehicle, and it spun approximately 45 degrees counterclockwise and exited the south side of the ramp. The vehicle then struck an embankment with the front right side and overturned onto its right side, where it came to a final rest.

Haines left the scene of the accident and reported it three hours later.

No injuries were reported.

Haines was cited for a traffic violation.

Vehicle Crashes into Tree on Silverling Road

Around 3:59 p.m. on February 4, Alexei P. Hoffman, 26, of New Bethlehem, was operating a 2004 Dodge Stratus, traveling west on Silvering Road in Clarion Township.

He was negotiating a left-hand curve and lost control of his vehicle on the slush-covered roadway. The vehicle traveled across the left side of the road and impacted a tree with its front left bumper. After impact, the vehicle spun 180 degrees clockwise and impacted an embankment off the left side of the roadway with its back rear bumper.

Hoffman suffered suspected minor injuries.

He was using a seat belt.

He was cited for a traffic violation.

Clarion Hospital EMS and Mark’s Auto assisted at the scene.
