State Police Respond to Domestic Dispute; Summerville Man Charged with Resisting Arrest

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — State police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on Thursday in Summerville, Beaver Township, Jefferson County.

Upon arrival to a residence on Heathville-Ohl Road in Summerville, 29-year-old Andrew J. Birch, of Summerville, “was found to be arguing and fight with family members,” according to Punxsutawney-based State Police.

Police say “Birch did not comply with police commands to cease and desist.”

After being taken into custody, he was charged the following offenses:

– Resisting Arrest, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment, Summary

He was housed in the Jefferson County Jail on $15,000.00 cash bail on Friday, February 9.

He is awaiting a preliminary arraignment in District Magistrate Gregory M. Bazylak’s office.
