Preliminary Hearing Slated for Rimersburg Man Accused of Choking Boy

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A Rimersburg man who allegedly choked a boy during a domestic incident faces a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

According to court documents, a hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13, for 34-year-old Ryan Michael Salizzoni, of Rimersburg, in Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill’s office.

Salizzoni faces the following charges:

– Strangulation — Applying Pressure to Throat or Neck, Felony 2
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment, Subject Other to Physical Contact

Salizzoni is free on $5,000.00 monetary bail.

According to a criminal complaint, Clarion-based State Trooper Allison was called to a Knox Township residence along Route 66 around 9:38 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, for a report of a domestic assault.

The victim — an 11-year-old boy — told Trooper Allison that Salizzoni picked him up by the neck with his hand and held him against the wall. Redness was observed on the boy’s neck and left ear, the complaint states.

Trooper Allison spoke with the victim’s mother, and she said that she had to pull Salizzoni from the boy after she saw what he was doing to him, according to the complaint.
