According to a report released by Clarion-based State Police, on Thursday, February 8, police made contact with a known 54-year-old woman at her residence on Eagle Furnace Road. The victim told police that on February 1, 2018, she received mail containing new credit cards. She said she found this very odd because she did not request any new cards. However, once she called her credit card company, they said that someone called and changed her address. At this time, police advised the victim to contact her financial institution and verify that there have been no mysterious charges or credit cards opened in her name. Police asked the victim if any money was physically taken from checking or savings accounts, and she confirmed that neither account had been accessed by the fraudulent actor.
