Driver Ejected Through Windshield in Richland Township Rollover Crash

RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A truck driver was rushed to Grove City Hospital after being ejected from his vehicle in a rollover crash on Wednesday evening in Richland Township, Clarion County.

According to Clarion-based State Police, around 5:57 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 33-year-old Thiago F. Macedo, of Laurel, MD, was operating a 1999 Mack truck, traveling west on Interstate 80. His vehicle left the north side of the roadway and continued in a westerly direction, struck a road sign, and then overturned. The vehicle rolled over approximately three times before coming to a final rest facing west on the north side of the roadway.

Macedo was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected through the front windshield. He was taken to Grove City Hospital to be evaluated.

Macedo was cited for a traffic violation.

Emlenton EMS, Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department, and Hovis Towing assisted at the scene.
