Three People Rushed to Hospital After Route 68 Crash

TOBY TWP., Pa. — Three people were transported to Clarion Hospital after a crash on State Route 68, in Toby Township on Saturday evening.

According to Clarion-based State Police, around 7:18 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 61-year-old Dennis S. Horner, of Rimersburg, was operating a 2001 Dodge Caravan, traveling north on Route 68 when he crossed over the double yellow line and struck a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer — driven by 50-year-old Joseph M. Davis, of Callensburg — head-on. Horner’s vehicle continued north and came to a rest on the west berm. Davis’ vehicle spun approximately 90 degrees and overturned.

Horner was transported to Clarion Hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries.

Horner was not wearing a seatbelt, and all airbags in his vehicle deployed.

Davis suffered suspected serious injuries; he was transported to Clarion Hospital.

Davis’ passenger — 33-year-old Brandi M. Ziegler, of Sligo — suffered suspected minor injuries.

Both occupants were transported to Clarion Hospital

Although Davis was not using his seat belt, Ziegler was.

All airbags in Davis’ vehicle were deployed.

Police indicate the crash involved DUI.

Clarion Hospital EMS assisted at the scene.
