Marienville Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Howe Township

HOWE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State Police report a two-vehicle crash occurred Monday morning on Deadman’s Corners Road in Marienville, Howe Township, Forest County.

According to Marienville-based State Police, the accident happened around 7:20 a.m. on March 5 when a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu operated by Gregg Waugaman, 22, of Marienville, collided with a 2002 Ford F150 operated by Lawrence Melego, 48, also of Marienville.

Both vehicles were traveling south on Deadman’s Corners Road when Melego slowed down for deer near the road. Waugaman did not see the Ford F150 prior to impact, due to frost on the windshield.

Melego was taken by Clarion EMS to Clarion Hospital for undisclosed injuries. He was using a seat belt.

Waugaman was not injured. He was not using a seat belt.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

The Malibu had to be towed from the scene.

Assisting on the scene were Marienville Volunteer Fire Department and Frank’s Auto.
