Sigel Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Young Girl

ELDRED TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Sigel man is facing felony charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a young girl.

According to court documents, Trooper Nicewonger, of Marienville-based State Police, filed criminal charges against Daniel Ivan Held, 40, of Sigel.

According to a criminal complaint, the victim reported that she was inappropriately touched by Held at a residence in Eldred Township, Jefferson County, in November of 2017.

During a forensic interview conducted by Pat Berger at Western PA Cares For Kids on November 30, 2017, the girl gave details of the incident.

The complaint states that Held originally denied and later allegedly admitted to sexually assaulting the victim.

Following an investigation, Held was arraigned at 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, in Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak’s office on the following charges:

– Corruption Of Minors — Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3 (two counts)
– Unlawful Contact With Minor — Sexual Offenses, Felony 3 (two counts)
– Indecent Assault Person Less than 13 Years of Age, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, Held was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, with Judge Bazylak presiding.
