Evelyn Alida Fingado

Evelyn Alida Fingado, 87, of Mount Orab, Ohio and formerly of New Bethlehem, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday morning, March 7, 2018, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on April 21, 1930, in Dunraven, New York, she was the daughter of the late George and Alida Owen.

She was married on October 21, 1950 to Harvey Edwin Fingado, Sr. and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2009. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her primary joy in life was singing for her Lord and raising four children.

Evelyn is survived by a son, Harvey E. Fingado, Jr. of Maryland New York, two daughters, Ruth A. Dugan of Mount Orab, Ohio and Diane M. Clapper and her husband Larry of Worcester, New York, nine grandchildren; Tony Dugan (Danielle) of Columbus, Ohio, Tamra Johnson (Jeff) of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Angela Pidgeon (Don) of Oneonta, New York, Nathan Clapper of Worcester, New York, Casandra Fingado of Schenevus, New York, Melissa Marvin (Charlie) of Oxford, New York, Pam McCabe (Brian) of Worcester, New York, Hanna Hornbeck (Jay) of Worcester, New York, and Sarah Dibble (Jon) of Lee Center, New York, thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters, Peggy Sanford of Margaretville, New York and Ferol Coonradt of Troy, New York, and three brothers, Nelson Owen of Kingston, New York, Butch Owen of Crozet, Virginia, and Bob Owen of New York.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Sonja Shirley officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Frogtown.
