John “Jack” Brown

John “Jack” Brown, 78, of Brookville, died Monday, March 12, 2018, following an illness at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Jack was born on December 23, 1939, in Coral, Pa. He was the son of William N. and Bertha V. Risinger Brown, they preceded him in death.

Mr. Brown was raised in Homer City and was a 1957 graduate of Laura Lamar High School. He served in the US Air Force. While in service he received both the Outstanding Unit Award and a Good Conduct Medal.

Jack retired from the US Post Office, working at both the Homer City and Brookville offices. He enjoyed his dogs, Flash and Minnie.

He is preceded in death by his wife, the former Stella Brosius.

His survivors include his brothers and their wives, Robert (Mary Ellen) Brown, of Jefferson Hills and Fred (Sue) Brown, of Bryant, AR; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by three brothers; William, Edward, and Thomas Brown.

As Jack was a lover of animals the family suggests memorial donations be made in his name to your local Humane Society chapter.

As per his request, there will be no public services. Burial will be private and held at a later date at the convenience of his family.
