North Clarion Students Participate in Regional Level Music Competition

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. — Two North Clarion students recently participated in a regional level music competition.

From March 1 through March 3, Trevor Amsler (pictured above) participated in the PMEA Region 2 Chorus Festival held at McDowell Intermediate High School in Erie, Pennsylvania.

At this festival, Trevor joined a chorus of 160 students from Northwestern Pa. to perform a variety of repertoire conducted by Dr. Christopher Jackson, the director of Choral and Vocal Studies at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa.

Trevor also participates in track, golf, Science Olympiad, Academic Decathlon, and Math Competition at North Clarion.

Trevor is the son of Robert and Melissa Amsler of Venus.

From February 22 to February 24, Mollie Cochran (pictured below) participated in the PMEA Region 2 Band Festival held at West Shamokin High School in Rural Valley, Pa.

At this festival, Mollie joined a band of over 150 students from Northwestern Pa. to perform a variety of repertoire conducted by Dr. Jason Worzbyt, the associate director of bands at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP).

During this festival, Mollie auditioned to participate in the PMEA All-State Festival and was selected to join the Wind Ensemble during that festival in April in Lancaster.

Mollie also participates in Academic Decathlon, Science Olympiad, Track and Field, Youth Council, and Junior Historians at North Clarion. She is also a member of Clarion University’s Symphonic Orchestra.

Mollie is the daughter of Margaret and Curtis Cochran of Tionesta.
