Daniel “Danny” Philip Clarke
Daniel “Danny” Philip Clarke, 65, of Franklin, died March 16, 2018, at UPMC Passavant Cranberry in Cranberry Township.
Born March 20, 1952, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Jane Josephine Slagle Clarke, of Franklin, and the late Phillip Matthew Clarke.
He was a 1970 graduate of Hampton High School.
Mr. Clarke worked over 20 years as a State Corrections Officer in Pittsburgh, retiring in 2002.
Danny was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan. He loved living in the country and walking his dogs, Hannah, Winnie, and Saddie Mae, in the woods. Every Sunday, he was known for eating blueberry pancakes and four pieces of bacon from Kings.
On December 22, 2012, he married the former Sara (Sue) Flockerzi who survives.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by four sons, Tim Clarke of Olean, NY, Jared Rice and wife Erica of East Lake, OH, Caleb Rice and girlfriend Rebecca West of Oil City, and Benjamin Rice of Oil City; three daughters, Shari Clarke of Cranberry Township, Liz Hedrick and husband Chris of VA Beach, and Danielle Rice of Oil City; three grandchildren, Ethan Daniel Clarke, Harper Rice and Brady Rice; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Also surviving is a sister, Cynthia Delorenzo of Greensburg; mother-in-law, Sara Flockerzi of Franklin; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Flockerzi and his wife Sarah of Dempseytown, and Gene Flockerzi and his wife Kathy of Cranberry Township.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a father-in-law, George W. Flockerzi.
Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Thursday, March 22, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church, in Franklin, on Friday, March 23, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brad Riddle officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded by the VETS Honor Guard.
Interment will be in Dempsytown Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses or to the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren building fund.
