Donald H. Swanson

Donald H. Swanson, 82, of East Brick Road in Kanesholm, near Kane, died unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, March 17, 2018, at his residence.

Born March 18, 1935, in Kanesholm, he was the son of Carl M. and Alice M. Schaaf Swanson.

Don was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army, having attained the rank of sergeant. He was a significant blood donor to the American Red Cross, having given over thirty-five gallons in his lifetime.

He is survived by his sister Lois Williams of New Kensington; a brother-in-law Wallace Dyne of Kane, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death, besides his parents, are a sister Jo Ann Dyne, a brother Ralph Swanson and a niece, Brenda Dyne Emer.

A graveside service will be held privately at Lebanon Cemetery in Kanesholm.
