Clarion Borough Hires Christoper Fox as New Police Officer

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — On Monday afternoon, Christopher L. Fox was sworn in as Clarion Borough’s newest full-time police officer by Mayor Dan Parker at the borough’s office.

Fox grew up in New Bethlehem and graduated from the IUP Police Academy in November of 2012.

Fox was hired by Clarion County Sheriff Rex Munsee in April of 2013. He started as part-time with the sheriff’s office and later promoted to a full-time deputy sheriff.

“I was hired here at Clarion Borough as a part-time officer in 2014,” said Fox.  “I worked here part-time for the sheriff and Borough.  I just recently resigned from the sheriff’s office at the start of the year.  I’m just blessed to be coming on to Clarion Borough as a full-time police officer.”

Fox said his favorite thing about police work is the variety of work.

“You don’t know what you’re going to get yourself into on a day-to-day basis.  You come to work, and it may be a quiet night, and you may not get any calls, but you might come to work the next day and be responding to an armed robbery or a simple assault or something minor like a dog barking.”

The Clarion Borough Police Department now has nine officers including Chief Bill Peck. Fox is a new hire and not replacing anyone. The police department is the largest in many years.
